Sol Caribe Hotel

One of Providencia's oldest, and largest hotels, the Sol Caribe is also the most expensive. It is one of the few hotels on the island to have a swimming pool. The Sol Caribe is a rather uninspiring and bland chain hotel, with rooms in need of renovation. Reviews of the Sol Caribe on tripadvisor.com are generally rather negative. This hotel is found on the coast near Freshwater Bay (Bahia Aguadulce).

Cost: About 550,000 Colombian pesos (US$240) for a double room, slightly less if boooked through Expedia.com or Travelocity.com. Packages including flights can also be booked via the hotel chain.
