El Recreo has a dozen simple, clean rooms in cabin style accommodation. The hotel's main forte is it's lovely and peaceful location in front of the beach in Freshwater Bay (Bahia Aguadulce). Felipe's Diving Shop is next door, so this is a convenient place for scuba divers to stay in Providencia. El Recreo has a restaurant.

El Recreo is usually booked via the Colombian hotel chain Decameron. However, it can also be booked directly with the hotel (at a greatly reduced price), but only upon your arrival in Providencia and presentation at the hotel.

Cost: From about US $140 (300,000 Colombian pesos) in the low season for a double room, including breakfast, with Decameron. Significantly less if booked directly with the hotel upon arrival.
